When will country prevail over political party?

That is my question after watching the grueling, emotional hours yesterday when Donald Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen went to Washington and appeared on our electronic screens worldwide.

Asking this question scares me. Worse, the answers shake me to my core.

It sounded like it came out of a movie plot.  In the early morning hours, federal agents stormed a home to make an arrest.  They had to be after some major drug lord or a sought-after terrorist. There were 29 agents all wearing military gear and carrying weapons.  High powered assault rifles were involved. Seventeen SUVs and two armored vehicles surrounded the home with lights flashing and sirens blaring.  It must be a really dangerous dude.

If Democratic House probes Trump, who wins the war?

Despite the usual rants from some of the Fox News “yes folks”, and the likes of Rush Limbaugh and others on the right side of Atilla the Hun, the Blue Wave is alive and kicking.

The Democrats have taken over the House of Representatives and could own a roughly 30 seat advantage. While Donald Trump claims he could not be happier for the victory from Tuesday’s vote, it doesn’t take a NASA Rocketeer to know the truth. The president is scared. He is angry. He is fighting back. As being reported, things are so not-A-OK, his administration is throwing grenades at one another. He is insulting the media. Much of the world, including our allies over the past one hundred years (plus Germany), seems to despise him. And possibly worse, he is at the center of a number investigations already and the House of Representatives, soon-to-be-dominated by angry revengeful Democrats, are about to mount an  assault from the ground, the air and the water and from outer space (if that’s possible).

RED LINE TRUMPToday, we learn that the Robert Mueller forces are apparently sending his troops up to, if not, beyond the Trump red line.

Despite threats of shutting down the special counsel operation, Mueller is on the march as he is reported to have issued subpoenas to the Trump Organization. So goes a real investigation, not the cowardly corrupt activity we saw led by the notoriously deceptive, Devin Nunes.

GOP HOUSE INTEL NUNES TRUMPThe Republican Majority who control the House Intelligence Committee has rendered a judgment and The New York Times reported it as follows: “‘The bottom line [is] the Russians did commit active measures against our election in ’16, and we think they will do that in the future,’ Mr. Conaway, said. But, he added, ‘We disagree with the narrative that they were trying to help Trump.’” Perish the thought!

The raging debate: Did the Nunes memo hurt the Democrats and the Russia investigation?  Or, did the Schiff memo undermine Congressman Devin Nunes's allegations and further erodie his own, the Republican House Intelligence and even the president's own credibility?
At issue:  Whether the FBI and the Justice Department (DOJ) properly educate the FISA court judges when they obtained and renewed the warrant on Carter Page?

we accuse witchAfter several agonizing days, the House Intelligence Committee memo was finally released to the public. President Trump rightfully declassified the document, allowing the American people a chance to learn about the abuses that occurred within the FBI and the Department of Justice.

The President made the courageous decision despite the strenuous objections of Democrats, the media and the FBI. According to the President, the findings are so upsetting that “a lot of people should be ashamed.”

untouchablesIt’s been a bad last few weeks for the nation’s top law enforcement agency.  First, an innocent hostage was shot and killed in a botched raid in Houston by an FBI shooter.  Then the television movie series “Waco,” debuted and revisited the FBI killings of innocent victims in both Ruby Ridge and Waco.  And currently, the Bureau faces charges by members of congress of malfeasance and even interfering in the most recent president election.
