As the world begins a second month of lockdown in response to the nightmare known as the coronavirus, it is essential to examine how this mess developed and how we return to some semblance of normalcy.
As part of the quest for truth, the three types of lies must be identified: lies, damned lies and statistics.
It is a lie that COVID-19 originated at some wet market in Wuhan, China. The media and most of the scientific and medical communities are holding to that theory; however, we do not know definitively. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials were not allowed into China to investigate the virus in the early stages. The communist Chinese government is notorious for lying and mistreating both its citizens and outsiders, so their statements verifying the wet market origins of the virus cannot be trusted.
In February, the nation added 273,000 jobs to the economy and the unemployment rate was only 3.5%. The Trump economy was booming, the stock market was hitting record highs and the American public was confident about the future of the economy. My, how times have changed.
Since that idyllic period, worries about the coronavirus have exploded and the nation’s economy has been essentially shut down, except for certain critical sectors. All indicators have moved to negative territory. For example, the stock market is down about 30% from its February all-time high.
The world is forever changed with the advent of this pandemic. The casualties may include traditional forms of greetings such as handshakes and hugging as more people embrace the new standard of “social distancing.”
Possibly, large public events will become rare occurrences. Fewer people will shop at retail locations or attend movie theaters, as the rush toward online shopping and entertainment will be accelerated. Popular modes of travel such as cruise ships may find fewer customers in the future as the many coronavirus worries may disturb American life for many years to come.
Ever since the coronavirus became a household word and the American people started to worry about its tremendous impact, President Trump and his task force have held daily media briefings. At these events, the President will usually make an announcement and then introduce members of his team who have important information to share with the American people. It is quite helpful to hear from these tireless public servants who are working day and night to save the lives of countless Americans.
Once again, hell broke loose at the White House. Meanwhile, California, New York and Illinois are on lockdown. More are likely soon go follow.
Now that we’re in crisis mode with the Covid-19, the issue of the moment involves Trump vs. a member of the media. Meanwhile, those most at risk are Americans who are just looking for answers.
Let us congratulate President Donald Trump for doing his job now that he cannot fabricate a campaign narrative of a “nothing burger” virus.
Today, we know that the Coronavirus, which he insists upon branding it as the Chinese Virus, is so much worse than what he and his gang had previously told us.
United States President Donald Trump has been doing a true public service each day by conducting his valuable and informative news conferences updating the nation on the coronavirus. He has provided Americans with a tremendous amount of crucial details on the race to stem the growth of the coronavirus. He also has been showcasing his excellent team of professionals who serve on the national coronavirus task force. These individuals are both experts and public servants as they have dedicated their time and effort to save the lives of Americans.
Today, President Donald Trump officially called a national emergency to deal with the ongoing threat of the coronavirus. This is the latest in a series of escalating steps that have been taken to deal with the ongoing crisis.
While the President acts at a national level, Governors across the country are making similar decisions in their states. Sporting events, business conferences, schools, and other large gatherings have been either canceled or postponed.
As usual, President Donald Trump and his buds have pulled out the blame game, which is standard freight for this administration. Whenever our fearless leader is backed against the wall on any issue, he counterpunches and blames everybody else but accepts no personal blame. Ever. Then he launches into the “hoax”, “witch hunt” or "political coup against the president" mantra and his chorus repeat the chant, louder and longer.
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) just announced his intention to remain in the race for President. Sanders will debate former Vice President Joe Biden on Sunday in Arizona in the first one-on-one encounter of the campaign. It will take a miracle for Sanders to win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination at this point. His preferences for socialist and communist dictatorships have come back to do tremendous harm to his electoral chances.
In 2016, a rare breed, a maverick political outsider and businessman Donald Trump ran for President of the United States as a Republican. He faced 16 establishment Republicans as challengers who had years of political experience and extensive party connections. Despite the formidable opposition, he secured the GOP presidential nomination. It was a political miracle, only made possible because of the unique skills and name recognition of Donald Trump.
It is never easy taking on the party establishment, as U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is discovering. In 2016, Sanders was denied the nomination by the ultimate insider, Hillary Clinton. She received unfair assistance from the Democratic National Committee and the media. She was even given questions in advance of a CNN presidential debate by former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile.
President Donald Trump did not create the Coronavirus. He does not want it to spread. His administration has taken steps, to date, that has limited the breakout.
Nor did Trump cause the stock market to nosedive this week. There are many causes for what many are calling a correction that has nothing to do with Trump.
Nor, by the way, are the Chinese engaged in some type of wild-brained conspiracy to cause the US stock market to crash, ushering in a more socialist-friendly American government.
As usual, Democrats will stop at nothing to blame President Trump for literally everything. With the world anxiously watching the spread of the coronavirus, the Democrats have decided that President Trump is responsible. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are blaming the President for not allocating enough money to combat the spread of the disease.
Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer believes the President’s response to this health threat has been weak and delayed and that it will result in his Katrina type of political disaster. For those of us who survived Hurricane Katrina, it is disgraceful for any politician to use such a tragedy to score political points. The deadly storm killed over 1,800 people, but it was a disaster that was man-made in many respects. The levees designed to protect New Orleans failed and 80% of the city flooded. It was a failure at all levels of government: local, state and national.
It is time for another presidential election, so it is time for the media and their Democratic Party allies to begin their hysterical warnings about Russian “meddling.” This was their mantra in the 2016 election. It led to congressional investigations, the failed Mueller investigation and the waste of almost $40 million in taxpayer funds. Of course, Mueller’s team of partisan Democratic Party attorneys found no collusion with the Russians by President Trump or his campaign.
