Resistance: The refusal to accept or comply with something; the attempt to prevent something by action or argument.
America has now reached the point where it needs a third party because what we have is not working. President Washington’s warnings about the evils of partisanship have come to roost. Democrats are incapable to accepting defeat in Presidential election, so they resist. Republicans lack the ability to lead.
After a very successful State of the Union address Tuesday night, the latest Rasmussen daily tracking poll shows President Donald Trump with an impressive 49% approval rating. This shows a continual improvement over the last few days, undoubtedly impacted by a speech that was well received. The ratings for the President’s speech exceeded last year and were significantly higher than the ratings for President Obama’s speech at a similar point in his presidency.
According to CNN and CBS polls, the speech received the approval of 76% of Americans. In fact, it was so persuasive that 72% of Americans, according to the CBS poll, agreed with the President’s comments on immigration, one of the most hotly contested issues in the country.
It sounded like it came out of a movie plot. In the early morning hours, federal agents stormed a home to make an arrest. They had to be after some major drug lord or a sought-after terrorist. There were 29 agents all wearing military gear and carrying weapons. High powered assault rifles were involved. Seventeen SUVs and two armored vehicles surrounded the home with lights flashing and sirens blaring. It must be a really dangerous dude.
As predicted, a major drug bust takes place at the southern border and the Donald Trump relief force and the build-a wall-or-else-crowd goes into high gear.
Just read it on twitter.
From Bill O’Reilly to members of the Freedom Caucus to the MAGA HAT crusaders--the cry has been very succinct: If the smuggling of drugs that could kill 57 million people is not a national emergency, then what is?
For those keeping score, the American Foreign policy and intelligence Super Bowl reveals that the President's Intel Chiefs are not willing to be benched as to the way they see the world. However, the President hired them all and can fire them all without cause. And he can publicly insult their individual and collective intelligence as he has done to others in his administration who have disagreed with him.
President Donald Trump has announced the settlement of the longest government shutdown in American history.
Now, it is time to get serious.
Trump was blasted by his base for accepting a prior deal on the wall. Now, he’s being sliced and diced by the same folks
To many of the radical leftists who inhabit the interconnected worlds of the media, Hollywood and the Democratic Party, the red hat with the words “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) has become the new similar of racism. According to left wing activist and actress Alyssa Milano, wearing the MAGA hat is akin to wearing a “white hood.”
Thus, supporting Donald Trump is the same thing as belonging to a terrorist group like the KKK. Never mind that the MAGA slogan was also used by former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, it is now incredibly racist because it was resurrected by Donald Trump. To the left, he is the epitome of evil.
In his campaign for President, Donald Trump made building the wall across the southern border with Mexico his signature pledge. In fact, it started on the first day of his presidential campaign when Trump highlighted the problems of illegal immigration. He famously said, “When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best... They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with [them]. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” These remarks led to a swift backlash as he was denounced by Macy’s, Univision, NBC among other corporate giants.
So often, I hear my pro-Trump defenders claim the media hates him, they are evil, fake newsers and enemies of the people.
I try to tell them that yes, the media is biased against Trump, but for good reasons. He lies or exaggerates so often that the media is simply challenging his or his administration comments, to get the facts.
That’s what they do. That's their job. It is also human nature. When you know that someone is not being honest, you make extra efforts to get to the truth.
Now that the mid-terms are over, and the new Congress has started, political observers have already started to focus on the 2020 presidential campaign. Every election, it begins earlier, especially in this case because the Democrats and their supporters in the media are obsessed with defeating President Donald Trump.
The hatred from the left for Donald Trump is off the charts and it is getting worse all the time. This anger is fueling the 2020 presidential contest for Democrats and, as a result, contenders are moving to the far left to pick up support.
In 2016, the American people elected Donald Trump as the President of the United States. His top campaign pledge was to build a border wall. It was the most popular slogan at his rallies and at the GOP 2016 Convention in Cleveland.
After two years of waiting, it is time for the President to deliver on his pledge. Of course, nothing happened with the Republicans in charge of Congress and nothing is happening now that the Democrats control the House of Representatives. Despite years of strong statements advocating a wall and border security, top Democrats are adamantly opposed to giving President Trump any funds for a border wall. It has been called “racist,” “immoral,” and “ineffective,” among other highly critical comments.
So you want to know how we should fix this crazy DC shutdown?
I'm glad you asked. It's really simple. It's amazing that the protagonists just don't see it the way I do. Here’s the plan:
First, let me side with the Democrats on the proposition that we shut down the shutdown. We can get the FDA working, our airports out of fear, our government contractors paid and all of the many obligations that the federal government has assumed now for decades, back on the job.
The 116th Congress will be one for the record books, but not in a positive way. Already, one member of Congress, U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), has used a vulgar expletive to refer to the President of the United States. Her vow to “impeach the mother…er” was greeted by cheers from a group of progressive supporters at a reception Thursday night. This type of insult is certainly unprecedented in recent political history.
We’re hitting the last day of 2018, with thousands of men and women on furlough or staying on their jobs without pay due to a government shutdown. Wouldn’t it be nice if, just for one last day of 2018, we could make sense of this border wall debate separating them from their paychecks?
Can't we, as a New Year's resolution, make up our mind that common sense and facts prime over politics?
Apparently not.
After all, we’re talking about The Wall.
