impeachables 4

In our nation’s history, only two U.S. Presidents have been impeached by the House of Representatives: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Both remained in office, surviving a trial in the U.S. Senate. Of course, President Richard Nixon resigned before he would have surely faced impeachment and removal from office.

In the last few days, the possibility of impeachment of the President has been continually raised by the corrupt, biased and liberal mainstream news media infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome. In fact, on Wednesday August 22, from 6 a.m. until Midnight, according to the Media Research Center, the words “impeachment” or “impeach” were used a ridiculous 222 times.

“Stupid is as stupid does.” It’s a big disappointment that Donald Trump’s downswing is being precipitated by a Playboy Bunny and a porn star. That’s nowhere near as sexy as high-tech hacking, fake news, and ultra-sophisticated espionage against a political enemy. The latter are activities worthy of a president’s downfall. The other stuff is everyday human foible, the kind of thing the guy at end of the bar has to explain to his wife.

“The truth isn’t the truth,” according to Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, on Sunday. This echoes Trump’s recent statement to veterans, "Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening” and blamed “fake news” for the confusion. Author Ambrose Bierce had this to say on the topic, “The truth (with the comfort it brings) is open to all who grope in the night, crying for wisdom’s holy light.” Unfortunately, the light Giuliani and his boss have shed on Russian interference in U.S. elections has been diffuse to date, despite U.S. intelligence’s high beams.

Am I missing something?

Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s embattled former Campaign chairman is looking at a possible life in prison as he awaits for the jury to return his future with a verdict in the first trial against him. He has been accused of bank fraud, tax fraud, a total of 18 counts.

Many of those watching the case unfold feel that the special counsel’s office, led by Robert Mueller, has a slam dunk of a case. Manafort refused to testify or call any witnesses in his defense. He has a trial set in one month, although he now wants a continuance.  Obviously, innocence or guilt is up to the jury, not Trump, Mueller, you or me. No matter how any of us view this case, the jurors' viewpoints rule.

Yes, he might win the case against him as getting reasonable doubt is very difficult, although the federal prosecutors have a great track record when they bring cases to trial, in part because the prosecutor staff and FBI are professionals, not politicos and are well-funded.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump blames Mueller, of course.

Today, the country’s number one-crime fighter told the media after being asked whether he would pardon Manafort:

THE PRESIDENT: I don't talk about that, no. I don't talk about that. I think the whole Manafort trial is very sad. When you look at what's going on there, I think it's a very sad day for our country.

He worked for me for a very short period of time. But you know what? He happens to be a very good person. And I think it's very sad what they've done to Paul Manafort.
Thank you very much.

What the heck is going on with this administration, this president and his firm ardent supporters who will rationalize everything the President does? Remember when President Obama intervened in the very controversial Trayvon Martin-Zimmerman case? The president waded into the tragedy of the death of Martin, not pre-determining that trial, but reminding the world that Martin could have been his son.
The right wing crowd blew a gasket. How dare the president throw the power and influence of his office around the judicial system like that! And they were right. Not only would a statement like that risk the tainting of a jury, but, it is just wrong on so many fronts.

But now, President Trump has a different view. His own presidency is at risk as well as possible liabilities of his family. The drum is beating deeper and louder calling for impeachment after recent events that have shocked the nation.

Manafort is being charged for very serious white collar crimes. Yet our President is blaming the prosecutors.

Where are those right wingers who were rightfully outraged when Obama stepped over the line in the Zimmerman case? Trump has been using this "blame the government" tactic now ever since Manafort got indicted, if not before.

The silence is stunning. Trump’s behavior shows his state of mind. He will do whatever it takes, I believe, to ensure that he does not meet a similar fate as his former chairman.

His statement today is just one more piece of evidence of criminal intent in an obstruction of justice case and abuse of power charge.

Instead of telling the world to wait for justice to be heard, he has blasted Mueller team, regardless as to what the jury might determine and knowing that another trial is right down the road.

That the president of the United States has brought this country so close to this type of division, discourse and suspicion is profound.
Borrowing his words from today, I think it is very sad what this president has done to our country.

Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, there have been over 60 million abortions throughout the country. According to former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, these abortions have been great for the U.S. economy.

At the August 11 “Rise Up for Roe” event dedicated to stopping the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court, Clinton said, “It is not a disconnected fact … that American women entering the labor force from 1970 to 2009 added three and a half trillion dollars to our economy.” Clinton connected this economic impact to the legalization of abortion.

Retaliation or national security?  Just why does John Brennan no longer have security clearance?

Today, Sarah Sanders sent shockwaves across the nation’s intel community today as she read a statement from President Donald Trump which announced  that former CIA director John Brennan's security clearance has been revoked.

The liberal mainstream news media has a narrative about Donald Trump and they do not deviate. The constant refrain is that the President is unhinged, idiotic, tyrannical and especially racist. Recently, the President was labeled a racist when he criticized CNN’s Don Lemon and NBA star LeBron James. Their latest obsession is the new book written by fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Judge T.S. Ellis, III once referred to himself as “Caesar in [the] Rome” that’s his courtroom though, by the jurist’s own admission, it’s a pretty small place. An exquisitely educated Reagan appointee, since 1984, Ellis transforms himself from mere mortal into mini-deity every time he dons a black toga to judge the accused arrayed beneath his bench who must contend for favor.

Donald Trump praised Ellis, recently, for the scoldings he’s been giving prosecutors from the special counsel’s office during the trial of Paul Manafort, ex-chair of the Trump campaign. Manafort is accused of evading taxes, money-laundering, and a passel-full of other financial crimes, mostly having a nexus to unreported income earned from pro-Russia work he undertook for the Ukraine’s former president, Viktor Andriyovych Yushchenko, who fled to Russia before the axe dropped.

right uniteeIt's one year post-Charlottesville riots. The focus is upon race. Despite the signs of neo-nazism, klanism and alt right, the far right will be claiming that the Democratic party are the racists.

It's part of a pattern.

In the past three years, there seems to be an increase in tweets and Facebook posts that claim that the “real civil rights” political organization is the Republican Party and the real white Supremacists, are the Democratic Party.

This week, I happen to see this type of suggestion or overt proposition on social media, more than usual. It seemed to follow the spat between Donald Trump and Lebron James.

One Facebook friend posted a video that presented this narrative—that despite its claim for caring for the fate of the minorities, the Democratic Party have supported the worst in our society as it relates to race.

trump laughA new NFL season started last night, and there were more misguided National Anthem protests. Sadly, last night, several players used the opportunity to express their grievances against the country, instead of respecting a great symbol of the United States.

Last night, two players on the Miami Dolphins team knelt while another one raised his fist in protest. Another two members of the Philadelphia Eagles raised their fists. In Jacksonville, four members of the Jaguars stayed in the locker room while the National Anthem was played.
