As almost the entire Congress left Washington D.C. for the Memorial Day holiday, a pork barrel package of “disaster relief” was getting ready to be approved. The price tag for the bill reached $19.1 billion and it included aid for hurricane ravaged areas in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Puerto Rico, as well as flooding relief for states such as Iowa and Nebraska. In an almost empty House chamber, one member, appropriately from the “Lone Star” state of Texas, U.S. Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) objected to the unanimous consent that was necessary.

During the White House signing of the executive order reversing his outrageous “zero tolerance” policy on the issue of separating children from parents, Trump did a “birther”.

Has the news media and many Republicans such as John McCain and others over-reacted to the latest controversy surrounding President Donald Trump involving Russia?

On Tuesday, Trump announced during the middle of an Oval Office meeting and in front of the news media, that he called President Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his election victory.  Shortly afterwards, John McCain slammed the President for doing so. Others followed.
