In the race to take on President Donald Trump, vice-president Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders continue to slip in the polls among Democratic voters according to the just released Morning Consult poll. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the survey is that among likely voters, Biden's lead drops to high single digits.
According to Morning Consult, President Donald Trump's approval in each state show the net approval down double digits in key 2016 states since inauguration although GOP voters back him overwhelmingly. However, the survey conflicts somewhat with a just-released Rasmussen Poll, a conservative poll that has determined that Trump has just tied his highest favorable since inauguration nationally, with 51-47 percent. This would be a climb of 4 percent since mid-March. Overall, the Real Clear Politics poll average stands at 44 percent.
President Donald Trump is enjoying a strong upswing over the past two months in the red-rock state of Louisiana.
In the recent Morning Consult poll released on Monday, Donald Trump now has an 18% net approval. In January, his net approval had dropped to 13% from his inauguration high of 31%. The uptick reflects a 5% increase from two months ago.
President Donald Trump’s net approval rating of Louisiana voters has plummeted over the roughly two years that he has presided over the nation.
According to a Morning Consult poll of registered voters, released Monday morning, Trump’s net approval sits at 13 percent, that is, positive minus negative rating.
His overall rating nationwide sits at 44 percent approval, versus 52 percent disapproval.
Steve Scalise, the Republican House Whip from the 1st Congressional District of Louisiana, who was shot during a baseball practice last year, is the leading candidate for Speaker of the House, as per the most recent Politico, Morning Consult poll.
Scalise has not declared his candidacy for the position as he has supported the House Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy, but indicated that he might run if McCarthy did not. According to this poll, Scalise might want to keep the gavel warm as McCarthy is at bottom of pack.
According to the just-released Morning Consult poll, Louisiana US Senator John Kennedy has a 51-25-24 percent favorable-unfavorable-uncertain/don’t know rating among Louisiana voters. The more senior US Senator, Bill Cassidy possesses a 48-27-25% rating.
Both US Senators from Louisiana are former Democrats, now Republicans in a strong conservative-Republican state.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has a 49% approval and 35% disapproval rating per a new survey released today. Sixteen percent don't know or have no opinion. The Morning Consult national survey ranked the most and least positive governors.
