Pre-existing hostility inflamed over AG Landry's healthcare bill, Gov. Edwards

The ever-so unhealthy John Bel Edwards vs. Jeff Landry feud has emerged, once again. The on-again, off-again legal wrangles between the two top state lawmakers broke skin today. The issue?  Healthcare.

In other words, a pre-existing hostile condition has spread into the Louisiana legislative healthcare arena over the uncertain and most-controversial issue of pre-existing conditions coverage.

Insurance Commissioner Donelon backs state-wide reinsurance pool health legislation


donelonIn a press release today, the Insurance Commissioner James Donelon  announced that the Insurance Commisioner's office is joining with Representative Kirk Talbot and Representative Major Thibaut along with Senator John Smith to urge the Louisiana Legislature to support House Bill 472 creating a state-wide reinsurance pool that will stabilize the state’s ailing individual market for health insurance.
