New Orleans, one of US's top cities in attracting Millennials to live

new orleans tourismGood news for New Orleans as it approaches its 300 year anniversary. The national publication, Business Insider has named New Orleans to a list of 11 U.S. cities to which "Millennials are flocking…in droves.”


According to Michael Hecht of GNO Inc, in an email he sent out Monday morning, the news site developed its list using data compiled from personal finance company SmartAsset, real-estate analytics firm RCLCO, and mortgage software firm Ellie Mae.

Business Insider said, “A local jazz band performs in front of Jackson Square in the New Orleans French Quarter.

New Orleans’ millennial population grew by more than 5,000 people from 2010 to 2015, an increase of 8.5%, according to RCLCO.
According to Time Magazine, “research from real estate analytics firm RCLCO shows that smaller cities, from Virginia Beach, Va., to Riverside, Calif., are actually seeing the most relative growth in their population of 25-to-34-year-olds.”
In the RCLCO survey, New Orleans is ranked 5th.
