It should surprise no one that in the radicalized Democratic Party of 2019, disgraced Reverend Al Sharpton is a major power-broker. His influence has been on display this week as many of the major Democratic Party presidential candidates attended a convention sponsored by the National Action Network, a “civil rights” organization founded by Sharpton.

According to several watchdog organizations, Louisiana has one of the worst judicial climates in the country.  The state has been given the dubious title of the nation’s judicial hellhole by several neutral watchdog groups. Campaign funds given to a judicial candidate are often cited as possibly influencing future judicial decisions. Some are advocating the appointment of judges in order to do away with the pressure on judicial candidates to raise campaign contributions. So is this the solution? Is appointing rather than electing judges the way to go in Louisiana?

After a very successful State of the Union address Tuesday night, the latest Rasmussen daily tracking poll shows President Donald Trump with an impressive 49% approval rating. This shows a continual improvement over the last few days, undoubtedly impacted by a speech that was well received. The ratings for the President’s speech exceeded last year and were significantly higher than the ratings for President Obama’s speech at a similar point in his presidency.

According to CNN and CBS polls, the speech received the approval of 76% of Americans. In fact, it was so persuasive that 72% of Americans, according to the CBS poll, agreed with the President’s comments on immigration, one of the most hotly contested issues in the country.

No longer do conservatives, moderates or even mainstream liberals have a home in the Democratic Party of today. They have been forced out by radical activists moving the party further to the left on a range of important issues.

In Congress, the main spokespeople for the Democratic Party are progressive superstars like U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who espouses a “Green New Deal” and a 70% income tax rate. Not to be outdone, U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is advocating an upper tax rate of 90%. According to Omar, the 90% rate is “a place to start…The one percent must pay their fair share.”

On one side, we have Republicans Congressman Ralph Abraham and wealthy Baton Rouge Republican businessman Eddie Rispone.

Today, on the other side, enters one Democrat John Bel Edwards, the current occupant of the governor's mansion who first won the seat in 2015.

So often, I hear my pro-Trump defenders claim the media hates him, they are evil, fake newsers and enemies of the people.

I try to tell them that yes, the media is biased against Trump, but for good reasons. He lies or exaggerates so often that the media is simply challenging his or his administration comments, to get the facts.

That’s what they do.  That's their job. It is also human nature. When you know that someone is not being honest, you make extra efforts to get to the truth.

Now that the season of eggnog and fireworks have passed, that Election season is almost official begun, that the Democrats control half of the lawmaking up in DC capitol, it seems like everybody wants to get in a word or two, or three.  Email is obviously the still the best way to communicate with the media, hoping the letter sent, gets circulated as expected. Yes, email is, at least for now, the PR megaphone of choice.. 

Any American who follows the news coverage of President Trump knows that the mainstream media is completely opposed to him. Their coverage of his administration is biased, relentlessly negative and needlessly nasty. These haters could not even take a break from their Trump bashing during the funeral of former President George H. W. Bush. Liberal activists, masquerading as journalists on MSNBC and CNN, criticized the President for folding his arms during the service and not singing from the hymnal like the other former Presidents. This pettiness is typical from a media that is afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

It is so awful that the watchdog group Media Research Center found the broadcast network news programs gave President Trump 95% negative coverage, worse than any President in the history of television.
