Yesterday, we posted part one of an interview of lobbyist Mary Patricia Wray. In that segment, she talked about the difficulties legislators are having this session. They are overworked and underpaid. They are stressed and combative. In fact, things are so bad that according to other sources, the legislators might not pass a budget until after the fiscal year begins. For Louisiana, that would be an extraordinary non-accomplishment, never been done. But, this is the Louisiana legislature, one year from elections.

It is always difficult for Louisiana to lose a corporate headquarters, but it is even more difficult when it involves a homegrown business. Yesterday, Smoothie King, a company started in Kenner, Louisiana announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Irving, Texas, in the Dallas metropolitan area.  

The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) honored the top 10 shippers and ocean carriers that have contributed to Port NOLA’s success over the years during the 10th anniversary of the Cargo Connections Conference (CCC) on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Today, Stormy Daniels revealed the sketch of the person she claims threatened her in a Las Vegas parking lot seven years ago. She originally made the claim of a man making a veiled threat demanding that she drop the Donald Trump thing after she made efforts to tell her story about her alleged relationship with Trump in 2006.

Medicaid expansion as an economic development driver for the State of Louisiana?

Last week, Governor John Bel Edwards and others promoted a study from LSU that argued that the Obamacare program not only served the lower-income workers but also helped the Louisiana economy.  I asked Jan Moller about this study pushed by the governor when Jim Brown and i interviewed him last week.

As I listen all the gun rights advocates voicing support of the sacred Second Amendment, I find myself wondering how we have reached a point where their noise is allowed to drown out the pleas for common sense gun laws, i.e. bans on assault weapons, bump stocks, thorough background checks, etc.

Sometimes, events occur where two people or entities you support, unfortunately, clash.  This situation seems to be the case this morning. Retired Air Force Colonel Rob Maness, during our weekly Facebook Live discussion, talked about a reported incident that occurred last night in Pearl River, in which the conflict appears to be between the Sheriff’s Department and the US military veteran.

The campaign of John Fortunato, through its PR firm, Buisson consulting has issued a statement regarding the UNO poll that shows a major change in the vote for Jefferson Parish Sheriff.  The campaign appears to confirm the general accuracy of the UNO poll. Earlier today, Bayoubuzz published an interview with Dr. Edward Chervenak, of the University of New Orleans, who oversaw the poll. Here is the statement which acknowledges the margin of error and the fact that the poll is a dead heat, subject to the error margin.
