Trade Week will kick off Monday, October 30 with a reception at the Port of New Orleans featuring Keynote Speaker, Doug Palmer, Senior Trade Reporter at Politico. Panel discussions on Doing Business in Indian Country, Energy, Digitization and Retail, Public Private Partnerships and Tourism and Destination Healthcare will take place Tuesday, October 31 through Thursday, November 2.
Panel speakers throughout the week include representatives from the Pierite Group, Choctaw Nation, American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma, A&E Office Machines, Louisiana Mid Continent Oil & Gas Association, Tellurian Investments, Tulane Energy Institute, Venture Global LNG, Biz New Orleans Magazine, Ochsner Health System, New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corp, GNO Inc, Copa Airlines, U.S. Commercial Service New Orleans, Jones Walker, UPS, Walmart, Siemens, Union Pacific, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Port of New Orleans, International Public Private Partnership Center for Resilience, Adams and Reese, Miller Mayer, and JP Morgan Securities.
Trade Week will also feature a small business workshop, hosted in partnership with the Urban League of New Orleans and the U.S. Export Assistance Center, for companies interested in scaling their global business. The workshop is designed to help companies get smarter about international logistics, finance, and business development.
The week’s activities will conclude Friday, November 3 with the Louisiana International Trade Jubilee, a celebratory affair and fundraiser benefitting the World Trade Center of New Orleans. The event will include silent auction, dinner and dancing with live musical entertainment by the Lafayette Allstars and cultural entertainment provided by the Consulate of Mexico in New Orleans. During the event, the World Trade Center will also present its annual Eugene J. Schreiber Award to Paul Aucoin, Executive Director of the Port of South Louisiana; as well as two inaugural awards, the Young and Emerging Leader Award to Janine Mansour, Commercial Director at the Port of New Orleans, and the Excellence in International Trade Award to SPF Depot.
The Eugene J. Schreiber Award was established in memory of the late Eugene “Gene” Schreiber, who served the World Trade Center and Louisiana community for over 30 years. Previous recipients of the Schreiber Award include former Senator Mary Landrieu, Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr. MD, Hon. James Coleman, Jr. CBE, and Gary LaGrange.
