According to Morning Consult, President Donald Trump's approval in each state show the net approval down double digits in key 2016 states since inauguration although GOP voters back him overwhelmingly. However, the survey conflicts somewhat with a just-released Rasmussen Poll, a conservative poll that has determined that Trump has just tied his highest favorable since inauguration nationally, with 51-47 percent. This would be a climb of 4 percent since mid-March.  Overall, the Real Clear Politics poll average stands at 44 percent. 

After a very successful State of the Union address Tuesday night, the latest Rasmussen daily tracking poll shows President Donald Trump with an impressive 49% approval rating. This shows a continual improvement over the last few days, undoubtedly impacted by a speech that was well received. The ratings for the President’s speech exceeded last year and were significantly higher than the ratings for President Obama’s speech at a similar point in his presidency.

According to CNN and CBS polls, the speech received the approval of 76% of Americans. In fact, it was so persuasive that 72% of Americans, according to the CBS poll, agreed with the President’s comments on immigration, one of the most hotly contested issues in the country.

The liberal mainstream news media has a narrative about Donald Trump and they do not deviate. The constant refrain is that the President is unhinged, idiotic, tyrannical and especially racist. Recently, the President was labeled a racist when he criticized CNN’s Don Lemon and NBA star LeBron James. Their latest obsession is the new book written by fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman.

On Friday there was more good economic news as the jobs report showed the unemployment rate dropped to 3.9%, the lowest since 2000. For African Americans and Hispanics, the unemployment rate is now the lowest ever recorded. In April, 164,000 nonfarm jobs were added to payrolls surpassing a 135,000 increase in employment in March. Among the sectors to perform well in April were construction which added 17,000 new jobs and manufacturing employment which surged by 24,000 jobs.
