Things are not going well for Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy these days in his race against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, who is seeking a fourth six-year term.

Some politicos and political journalists are beginning to believe that the GOP feels they only way they can defeat incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is to have her removed from the November 4 ballot. That strategy did not work.

Usually, a poll conducted on the U.S. Senate race by a conservative entity is not good news for incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, who is seeking a fourth six-year term.
Not so in the case of a recent survey by the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF). It describes itself “as a grassroots organization dedicated to electing strong conservative leaders to the United States Senate. We do not support liberal Republicans and we're not affiliated with the Republican Party or any of its campaign committees.”

Landrieu leads in latest poll
Incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu leads Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy 46-43% in the latest poll on the Louisiana Senate race, which will be on the ballot on November 4.
The poll was conducted for Rasmussen Reports by Pulse Opinion Research between July 8-9 of 750 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/-4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
