After almost 54 years, the controversy about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy still rages today. 

The question at the center of the debate is the roll of Lee Harvey Oswald. Was he the diabolical perpetrator of the crime or an unwitting patsy set up to take the blame for the murder of the century by powerful forces either within the U.S. government, the Mafia or foreign entities? 

According to the University of New Orleans, data provided by Political Science Department Professor Ed Chervenak, the turnout numbers and demography indicates that LaToya Cantrell received the best race-based cross-over support of any of the candidates.

for the “perilous” Hurricane Nate. In preparation, the Mayor sent out breathless news releases about all of his emergency orders and held countless press conferences to let everyone know he was in charge. 

New Orleans moves up four in city growth among big cities. Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport. plummet. Metairie soars. Kenner pretty much stays pat.

According to the website WalletHub.com, Louisiana’s top growth city is New Orleans which is ranked among all cities at the 168th position .  It’s rank is based upon a “sociodemeographics” rank of 66 but a Jobs and Economy rank of 363.

 Louisiana’s cities are not growing as well as some of the other states over the past seven years. The fastest growing, according to Wallet Hub, is New Orleans, ranked 168^th. Lake Charles 216, Metairie 266, Lafayette 396, Baton Rouge 510, Shreveport 515.

How do you fill a budget gap of more than #1 billion dollars after consecutive years of combination of tax increases and budget cuts amounting to roughly $3 billion?

This is the issue plaguing Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, his staff, the Louisiana legislature and of course, the business and the citizens of the state.

According to the just-released annual report from the University of New Orleans, the job situation in New Orleans is better, the Port of New Orleans and New Orleans area tourism is strong, deplanement is increasing yet the population growth continues to only slightly tick up.

Let it be said: New Orleans Mitch Landrieu has angered many in New Orleans and Louisiana with his recent controversy over taking down the confederate monuments.
