Imagine.

You’re in an important phone conference with the top managers under your supervision. This meeting will set your company’s priorities over the next six months.  Each manager must present a report. Decisions will be made during the phone meeting.  Conclusions, based upon those decisions and the underlying details must be outlined and prioritized.  Each manager is responsible for a certain corporate function.  Each must be very familiar with how the meeting impacts their own respective department and of course, how everything integrates with the meeting's big picture.  Most importantly, the CEO needs the final report, yesterday.

Impossible. Right?

Not any more.

So, welcome to the world of artificial intelligence married to the latest in collaborative technologies.

Welcome to Voicea.

And, they're off!!

Well, not actually. If you've been laboring over Louisiana favorite sport lately, the once-every-four-years gubernatorialcampaign, you can rest a spell.  The ponies really haven't even goten up to the starting gate. Not yet.  And that won't take place, according to Louisiana pollster Bernie Pinsonat, until after Labor Day. And when it does arrive and we all collectively wake up and smell the prospects of a real horse race, all bets could be off as to the outcome.

Well, kinda.

abraham book 3

We’ve heard and read so often that this politician or that elected official is a narcissist or sadist or psychopath or a Machiavellian, or perhaps even worse--all of those pathologies lumped together. Fairly or unfairly, over the past few years, some of those very words have been spoken more frequently than in the past, especially the term “narcissist” when describing President Donald Trump’s quite unorthodox and unusual behaviors.

Unquestionably Trump is one of those transformational men who have made major changes in the past.  He could also make profound changes in the future . So, might it be possible, if not likely, that the current, Commander in Chief, has some of the characteristics and personality traits of those who sit on the throne of the great historical figures?  Will he enter the pantheon of the most memorable along with the likes of Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Caesar or even other lesser historical figures who have still made a sizeable mark in our lives, for better or for worse?

If you didn't know better, you might think that President Donald Trump was running for governor as a Republican against John Bel Edwards, the incumbent and a Democrat.

Newbie political candidate, Eddie Rispone, a Baton Rouge businessman, who has his own rags to riches story to tell, essentially has made Trump his running mate with his TV advertising. Rispone backs Trump, donated to him and mentions the president throughout the ads.  Rispone, a virtual unknown in the state had to introduce himself to the voters for the first time. He chose to align himself with the national figure that the vast majority of Republican voters adore.

I took a quick tour of two political websites this morning. One was Dr. Ralph Abraham and the other was businessman Eddie Rispone. Both are Republicans. Both are running for Governor.

How else can one explain it?

Our President Trump is more Vladimir Putin than he is our national intel. He's being called "Putin’s Puppet" and our Majority Leader, called McConnell, "Moscow Mitch".

Our nation’s intelligence, not only those experts appointed by President Barack Obama but those working on Donald Trump’s coin have warned us that the Russians interfered, are interfering and will do so come November 2020.

punch italian 3

After roughly 18 years of playing in some of the finest venues in the city, Politics with a Punch is taking it to the burbs and going Italian.

“Punch”, as we love to call our political comedy show where just about everything goes, is leaving the Eiffel Society in New Orleans and taking its troupe of the top local newsmakers, celebrities,  media stars, comedians and politicians (no, the latter two are not necessarily synonymous.

Our new home is Andrea's in Metairie, and our next show is this Thursday August 1. Doors open at 6 pm, show begins at 8pm..

The Governor's race is on. It's time to party!

Which is what essentially happens every four years and every two to four years encompassing the US Senate race cycles.

The political parties make a presence in one form or another. Actually, daily.

July 4th has come and gone.

Which means here in Louisiana, during statewide elections year, it’s time to put away the hotdogs and apple pie and roll out the political signs. After all, the governor’s race is heating up as the hot “dog days of summer “ wear on.

On Monday, the current inhabitant of the mansion, Governor John Bel Edwards unleashed his first campaign TV ad. While his political foe is one very successful  Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone and one powerful  Congressman, Ralph Abraham, at least for now, neither are directly the ad target.  That honor goes to—you guessed it—none other than former Louisiana Governor and past-GOP rising star,  Bobby Jindal.

pearl harbor please 3

Suppose right in front of the world's eyes, Franklin D. Roosevelt joked with the Japanese emperor after Pearl Harbor saying, “Don’t bomb Pearl Harbor again, please”.   Or, how about hearing somebody who has allegedly raped your daughter jest, “she’s not my type”?

Would you be hurt? Upset? Angry? Outraged? Ballistics?
