President Trump stirred up a hornet’s nest recently as he proposed that the U.S. try to buy Greenland. Many political observers rolled their eyes. Buy another country? Has the Prez thrown out another wacky suggestion and is this really a good idea? Actually, yes. America has been acquiring land from other nations for centuries. And often, Louisiana has been right in the mix.
For over three years, the liberal media, including MSNBC, have been promoting the phony Trump/Russia collusion narrative. Despite the Mueller probe concluding that neither the President nor his campaign colluded with Russia, the liberal media never stopped promoting the false story. It has been part of their continuing effort to destroy President Donald Trump, both personally and professionally.
The light of truth approaches slowly and perhaps surely in this era of Donald Trump.
The only way that the United States is going convince Donald Trump's base that the president himself is to be blamed for the daily, if not hourly criticisms lodged against him, is when members of the loyal royal forces openly admit they see the light.
The only chance that his ardent supporters publically distance themslves from his countless lies, distortions and falsities is when his pretenders begin to own up to their own truths. These are truths of which they might have known all along but have been unwilling to state so. These are truths that are so obvious, they blind the night. They require self-awareness and courage to concede.
Ever so slowly, we’ve seen stunning departures from the “Trump is always Reicht” compulsions and dogmas over these past spring and summer months.
Donald Trump has been like no other president in American history. To say he is unique would be an understatement. He is the first president to make extensive use of social media especially Twitter. His daily tweets are the talk of the daily news cycle.
In addition to his extensive use of Twitter, Donald Trump’s campaign rallies are just as much over the top as his tweets. His exaggeration of his accomplishments and his claims of the failures of prior presidents are hallmarks for news coverage and food for his followers. His legions of supporters love him. The left not so much. And those who consider themselves in the political middle are left perplexed and confused.
It seems that Lusher High School in New Orleans has a celebrity teacher this year, former Mayor Mitch Landrieu. He will be teaching an Advanced Placement American Government course to a select group of students.
Not surprisingly, his emphasis will be on local government, which makes sense since Landrieu was Mayor of New Orleans for eight years. While it might be interesting to hear from Landrieu’s liberal perspective, will the high school be offering an alternative ideological viewpoint? Will there be balance in the classroom?
Throughout most of its history, San Francisco has been known as the beautiful “city by the bay.” It has wonderful scenery, the Golden Gate bridge, the cable cars, Pier 39 among other wonderful cultural attractions. Sadly, it is also led by unhinged progressives who are in the process of destroying this city.
While there is incredible wealth in San Francisco, along with plenty of high-tech corporate headquarters, there is also a growing poverty problem. Currently, according to the city’s own definition, there are approximately 10,000 homeless people living in San Francisco.
Not only are poor people living in tents, but they are defecating and urinating on the streets. This has forced the city to hire a squad of employees dedicated to cleaning up the increasing mess of bodily waste on the streets. Of course, with thousands of people using the streets as a bathroom, the rodent and health problems have exploded.
When qualifications for elections in Louisiana concluded recently, only two of the seven statewide officials are facing major and well-funded opposition. Incumbent Governor John Bel Edwards faces eight challengers including five republicans. But only two GOP candidates are considered serious; Congressman Ralph Abraham from Northeast Louisiana and Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone.
It is never easy to defeat an incumbent Governor of Louisiana. Our Governors are very powerful with access to plenty of statewide appointments, ever present publicity opportunities and enormous amounts of funds from the state budget.
Not surprisingly, the last time an incumbent lost the race was in 1991 when then Governor Buddy Roemer failed to make the runoff. Of course, that was the infamous election between Edwin Edwards and David Duke.
A year and a half ago, according to a Bernie Pinsonat--Southern Media Opinion Research poll, John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, polled at a whopping 65 percent. Today, Pinsonat believes Edwards polls in the low 50’s.
Edwards is up for re-election against major candidates such as Congressman Ralph Abraham and multi-millionaire Eddie Rispone.
So, what gives? The Louisiana budget crises, for now, is a thing of the past. The last legislative session this spring was boring, meaning, it was successful. A storm just slammed Louisiana which emergencies normally help a governor show leadership during a crises. So, why would there be a drop of perhaps fifteen percent since last year?
Imagine.
You’re in an important phone conference with the top managers under your supervision. This meeting will set your company’s priorities over the next six months. Each manager must present a report. Decisions will be made during the phone meeting. Conclusions, based upon those decisions and the underlying details must be outlined and prioritized. Each manager is responsible for a certain corporate function. Each must be very familiar with how the meeting impacts their own respective department and of course, how everything integrates with the meeting's big picture. Most importantly, the CEO needs the final report, yesterday.
Impossible. Right?
Not any more.

How much longer can Drew Brees defy the age line?
I am writing this missive while sitting on a heating pad. I was lacing up my golf shoes this morning when I felt a twinge in my left side along the belt line. It wasn’t bad but it was annoying, especially since I had already completed my stretching followed by my three-mile Old Fartlek run-walk-run, all without incident.
The office of the current Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwaards has announced the arrangements for remembrance of former Governor Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco who died on Sunday.
Here are the arragements which includes Governor Blanco's body lie in state at the Louisiana capitol rotunda:
The debate over abortion continues to rage among our citizens. It is the most divisive political issue in our country. It is also the main reason there is so much contention whenever there is an opening on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Liberals realize that the decision establishing abortion rights, Roe v. Wade, may be overturned if President Donald Trump is allowed to successfully nominate another conservative Supreme Court Justice.
And, they're off!!
Well, not actually. If you've been laboring over Louisiana favorite sport lately, the once-every-four-years gubernatorialcampaign, you can rest a spell. The ponies really haven't even goten up to the starting gate. Not yet. And that won't take place, according to Louisiana pollster Bernie Pinsonat, until after Labor Day. And when it does arrive and we all collectively wake up and smell the prospects of a real horse race, all bets could be off as to the outcome.
Well, kinda.
The overwhelming majority of our country’s police officers do tremendous work and risk their lives on a regular basis. It is an honorable profession to protect and serve hard working Americans. Unfortunately, in our country today, police officers are often subject to unfair oversight, intense public criticism, and regular harassment from unruly citizens.
