The New Orleans Saints who were already somewhat anemic when it comes down to running the ball have been hit for a loss after star running back Pierre Thomas (ankle) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. Thomas joins rookie running Chris Ivory (foot) on the IR. Ivory has shown signs of stardom this year with speed and power. In very limited play, Ivory has run for 716 yards and five touchdowns.
Thomas has been the most reliable running back over the past years but has been hampered this year.
The New Orleans Saints are left with Reggie Bush, who has shown limited rushing history since joining the team. The Saints are relying upon Bush and Julius Jones who has been error-prone this year and who has not made any impact for the Saints, this year.
