According to pollster John Couvillon of JMC Analytics, David Vitter’s campaign has some real issues it needs to confront, if the US Senator is to beat democrat Jon Bel Edwards to be the next Louisiana governor. The election is November 21.Here is a rough overview of this part of the interview:
In part 3 of a recent interview with Jim Brown and Bayoubuzz’s Stephen Sabludowsky, Couvillon said Vitter must repair his republican base. He needs to get 80 percent of the republican vote.
He likewise said that he should not focus upon Obama but on the John Bel Edwards vote. Couvillon also discussed the new Vitter ad “Zero” which focuses upon his attacks upon government perks. Jim Brown indicated that this anti-perk assault is rubbing some government officials the wrong way as it is being viewed as an attack upon them. Couvillon noted that Vitter must get from 23 to 50 percent and must also receive 80 percent of the Jay Dardenne and Scott Angelle vote.
The pollster contrasted the Vitter candidacy to that of now-Senator Bill Cassidy, who was continuously attacked by Rob Maness in the race for US Senate, however, was able to get the Maness supporters into his fold only days after the primary election.
