LSU coach Les Miles is staying.

"I am pleased to  announce that Les Miles will remain the head coach at LSU," said Tigers athletic director Joe Alleva. "Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field. We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership."

Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but university officials confirmed that Miles would return for a seventh season.

Miles' current deal pays him about $3.75 million a year and runs through 2014.

The report comes a day after Miles met with the athletic director of Michigan about the school's vacant head-coaching job.

Miles will hold a new conference when he returns from Dallas, where is speaking at the convention of  the American Football Coaches  Association convention.
