Drew Brees will skip offseason workouts.

Brees doesn't want to lose leverage in contract talks with the Saints by giving in on offseason workouts. The Saints are in danger of losing guard All-Pro Carl Nicks, No. 1 receiver Marques Colston and deep threat Robert Meachem in free agency.

Without a first-round draft choice thanks to the Mark Ingram trade, the Saints will probably lose draft choices because of the bounty scandal.

The Saints should pay Brees and they should have worked it out before this season. He came to a nowhere franchise and made it somewhere. He put in the hours and the study to bring the Super Bowl title here.

He helped put a city back together after the storm and you improved the Saints' value a lot. He showed up for work every day, every week, season after season. He started and shined in every game since you got here in 2006.

He made living in New Orleans and playing for the Saints seem like an honor, and people were depending on you.

He will be expected to get the franchise over the bounty scandal.
And  he will.

Pay the man!

The NFL won't penalize the Saints any more than team fines, individual suspensions and loss of draft picks, reports Pro Football The report dispels rumors of possible vacated games and loss of franchise tag which was rumored.

Saints owner Tom Benson is worth $1.1 billion which ranks him 375th among U.S. billionaires. He ranks No. 1,075 among world billionaires, according the Forbes new list of billionaires.
