Saints running back Reggie Bush, who has missed the past seven games because of a broken fibula, plans to play on Sunday against Seattle.

Saints quarterback  Drew Brees said, "Bush adds a new dimension to our offense."

Bush has been targeting Sunday's game for a while now. He recently returned to practice and some thought he might be able to play in Week 9 at Carolina. But the Saints held him out, giving him the Saints' bye week to rest.

Bush suffered the broken bone in the Saints' Week 2 win over San Francisco. A 49er fell on his leg after he dropped a punt and was recovering it. He caught nine passes for 63 yards and a touchdown and had seven carries for 18 yards before he was injured.

The Saints (6-3), tied for second in the crowed NFC South race, were 2-0 before Bush got hurt. They're 4-3 in his absence.

Saints running back Pierre Thomas, who suffered an ankle sprain in Week 3, is still out.
