LSU, Ole Miss Vie, Expect No Clock Issues For Miles

Two of Ole Miss quarterback Jeremiah Masoli's three interceptions were returned for touchdowns in last week's disgraceful loss to Tennessee, 52-14.

And the Rebels visit Tiger Stadium, home of the SEC's best defense, on Saturday.

Ole Miss (4-6, 1-5 SEC) has won its last two games against LSU (9-1, 5-1) and have a history of keeping it close against the Tigers. The Rebels lost their opening game to Jacksonville State.

Houston Nutt's only win in the in the last five weeks came over Louisiana-Lafayette. Are you religious? Because I'm pretty sure the football gods saw the Rebels take Masoli and declared, "No, no, no, We must smote thee."

Last year was the low water mark for Les Miles at clock management and all everybody remembered about a 25-23 loss to the Rebels at Oxford. The Tigers will have no such issues this year.

Prediction: The Tigers will cover the 16.

Other fearless college picks: Boise State -30 1/2 over Fresno State; Tulane +17 over central Florida;Tennessee -8 1/1 over Vandy; Clemson -13 over Wake Forest; Wisconsin -4 over Michigan; Iowa +3 over Ohio State; Oklahoma State +24 over Kansas; Arkansas -3 over Mississippi State;; Stanford -6 1/2 over Cal; Virginia Tech -2 1/2 over Miami (best bet);  Texas A&M +2 1/2 over Nebraska (upset special): San Diego State +2 1/2 over Utah (another upset special); and Houston +4 over Southern Miss.

LES MILES has made Bleacher's "The 50 strangest decisions in sports history" list. When it happened: Nov. 6, 2010, when the Tigers squared off against Alabama.  What happened: LSU faced a fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter, trailing the Crimson Tide 14-13. So what did Miles do?: He went for it, with a reverse. The logic: Not sure with Les. He never says. How'd it work: Splendidly. The Tigers got 23 yards on the play and kept a drive alive that ultimately put them in the lead. Strange even if it did work. Crazy meter: Compared to some of the things Miles has done, this was tame. But for us sane human beings, it was pretty strange even if it did work."...When cheese gets its picture taken, what does it say?
