Today,First Lady Supriya Jindal held a book signing for “Louisiana Governor’s Mansion: Our Treasured Home” at Walmart in Covington. The book, illustrated by Louisianian Torie Holeman, describes hidden treasures found at the Mansion by Mrs. Jindal's three children. All of the proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit The Supriya Jindal Foundation for Louisiana’s Children. The book is available for sale at Walmart locations across Louisiana and at the Governor’s Mansion.
Unemployment: The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims files from the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC): Initial UI claims for the week ending November 20, 2010, increased to 4,293 from 4,041 for the week ending November 13, 2010. Continued UI weeks claimed for the week ending November 20, 2010, increased to 48,626 from the previous week's total of 48,436.
Landrieu and Small Business Summit
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu will hold the first summit on economic opportunities for local businesses, “People of New Orleans Rebuilding New Orleans” tomorrow at the Marriott Hotel. The summit will focus on results-oriented business education for current small business owners. {sidebar id=4}
Mayor Landrieu remarked, “This summit is an opportunity for our businesses to learn about the major capitol programs that are moving forward in the City of New Orleans. This summit is about creating jobs, putting people back to work, and economic prosperity for all New Orleanians.”

Gov. Bobby Jindal has prepared campuses to slice their spending plans by 32 percent or more for the 2011-12 fiscal year. That could mean up to $500 million less statewide.
