Could we possibly have a worse leader during the greatest national crises in modern American history than we do right now with President Donald Trump?

I’m serious. I only wish he would take the Coronavirus seriously, more than he takes his own political campaign and personal future.

For one, the economy is in complete shambles.

President Donald Trump loves twitter. Every day he takes it upon himself, despite his so-very busy schedule to share his thoughts with America. An hour rarely goes by, now-a-days, without the President telling us what's on top of his mind.

While his wife Melania claims she wants everybody to “Be Best” online, her husband obviously views social media a teensy-weensy different.  Whether one loves his real-time thoughts (or not), there is plenty of “raw meat” within each of the 280-characters in his Tweetdom.

I believe Donald Trump is the most selfish President in my lifetime. He's the most selfish person I have ever known. Selfishness is acceptable when it does not involve others. That possibility does not exist for the President of the United States.

I get it.

I get that millions of People, mainly white, do not like symbols and icons of the past to be swept away and suddenly Gone with the Wind.  I understand that people are angry. They view the confederate flags and statues to be symbols of white supremacy, slavery, and oppression.  I see why African Americans are afraid for their sons or their brothers to go to the corner drug store or take a run in the park.

The hard knocks of Fascism are pounding on the front door. Which one of us will let it in?

There are those on the right who say it is the Democrats and the liberals. They claim their constitutional rights are being violated and that America is not the same country, does not grant the same freedoms as before. They demand corrective action and some of them speak of retaliatory violence as almost inevitable to keep America great. 

Today, if the weather prevails, America will hit two milestones.  The first is our return to space with the first launch in nearly ten years of a US man-occupied spacecraft.  The second did not take a decade. Nor did it take ten months.  Within less than three months, this country has witnessed the most destructive population genocide in American history, thanks to Covid-19.  On leap year day, the first corona-virus death was recorded. The virus which we were told would suddenly disappear has resulted in the morbid and jaw-dropping disappearance of 100,000 loved ones.

Is New Orleans ready to reopen?

The nation’s economy in a free-fall. The death toll continues to shock and climb day after day.  All communities are debating if and when it should abandon their severe lockdowns and return to a more restricted business-as-unusual.  Currently, the United States is facing an unimaginable 20 percent unemployment.  Yet, the deaths now hovering over 80,000.  Some experts predict that by Memorial Day, an unthinkable 100,000 people will have died as a result of the coronavirus.

So many Coronavirus economy questions. For now, very few answers. Lots of disappointments. For some, hopefully, a new promising new normal beginning .

Questions such as: Can businesses in this region recover? Are we ready to reopen? Which industries might be the winners? Which could lose?

Michael Hecht, the President of Greater New Orleans Inc seemed optimistic but worried.  Hecht has been the face of the region's economic development engine. He moved to the city after Katrina and has been at the center of major developments in the airline, technology, manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, logistics, just to name a few. 

What should we do about Tara Reade?

Unless you've been on media lockdown lately, the lady somewhat has morphed into Joe Biden's running mate, of sorts. The Bidens, the Democrats, the media, and the anti-Trumpers are running away from her story, ready to explode. They must not. The past has long legs.

Just in case you are in doubt, Donald Trump did not create the covid-19. He did not ask it to visit the United States. He has not personally fired over sixteen million people over the past three weeks. Regardless, it is time for him to take responsibility.

I know, many of you are going to cry out and say this is a “ hit piece”. You will defend the president, call all of those people who are critical of him and his coronavirus performance as not caring about America, casting blame rather than working together for the greater good.
