This week was dominated by the questions regarding the sentencing of political operative Roger Stone. Last January, he was subjected to a pre-dawn raid by federal officials carrying assault rifles. Somehow, CNN was informed about the raid and their cameras captured the dramatic footage of agents entering home and arresting Stone.
Today, Roger Stone, a political operative who had worked with Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, was convicted on seven counts ranging from lying to Congress to witness tampering. His sentencing will take place on February 6, 2020. Stone could face up to 50 years in prison.
Prosecutors argued that Stone lied about his efforts to gather information for the Trump campaign from WikiLeaks about the hacking of Democratic National Committee computers.
When will country prevail over political party?
That is my question after watching the grueling, emotional hours yesterday when Donald Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen went to Washington and appeared on our electronic screens worldwide.
Asking this question scares me. Worse, the answers shake me to my core.
It sounded like it came out of a movie plot. In the early morning hours, federal agents stormed a home to make an arrest. They had to be after some major drug lord or a sought-after terrorist. There were 29 agents all wearing military gear and carrying weapons. High powered assault rifles were involved. Seventeen SUVs and two armored vehicles surrounded the home with lights flashing and sirens blaring. It must be a really dangerous dude.
Is the long dark mystery coming to an end? Are we at long last getting details whether Trump campaign conspired with the Russians or their agents during the 2016 presidential elections?
is this why the President, with tear gas on the border, healthcare in confusion, Ukraine and Russia in a staredown, is blasting out an image of Bob Mueller and Rob Rosenstein and a gang of others being locked up for treason?
I ask these questions with some sorrow. Darn! Tomorrow is not Thanksgiving. That was last week. Just imagine how the Thanksgiving table would react if we finally got to some of the really meaty stuff dividing our families for the past two years. Just imagine the powerful Trump-memes we could share!
The investigative reporter and best-selling author, Dr. Jerome Corsi, is facing the heat from Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team of attorneys. After two months of negotiations, Corsi announced that he is rejecting their plea deal and will be filing a criminal complaint with the Attorney General. Corsi is accusing Mueller’s office of “Gestapo” tactics as they tried to pressure him into pleading guilty to a single perjury count.
